Holly brings over 30 years of experience working in museums and institutions of higher education as an educator, curator, new media pioneer, and professor of museum studies at Johns Hopkins and Case Western Reserve University. She joined ICA in 2018 as the Director of Education and Outreach and shepherded the institution through an unanticipated transition to a fully virtual educational program during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, Holly was appointed Executive Director, becoming only the tenth person to hold that role.
Holly is the author of several scholarly books and articles on topics ranging from 15th-century Italian fresco painting, new media tools and technologies, and Native North American professional organizations. She is an expert on Cleveland history and is working on a book about the city’s prominent Wade family, whose legacy includes donating 75 acres for University Circle's Wade Park in 1881, founding the Cleveland Museum of Art in 1916, and helping establish Lake View Cemetery and Hathaway Brown School. She has also published a mystery novel, Cocktail at the Museum, in which a museum director dies under mysterious circumstances.
